Love is Contagious - Join the White-out Party!

Today, I want to share an invitation to a pretty cool initiative in Manitoba where I live. My pastor friend, Karen Schellenberg, came up with an idea to share some love and support in this time of self-isolation and social distancing. It’s a very difficult time for many, but we need to remember that we are all in this together and that love goes a long way.

Maybe you can find unique and creative ways to spread the love of God with your communities as we continue to face the unknown future due to COVID-19. The possibilities are endless and who knows what kinds of doors God will open!

Join in! The party begins this weekend - Starting April 3, 2020!

Over the past 2 years we have rallied around our favourite team, donned as much white as we could find, and headed out to the streets. Whether we were there or watching on TV, those events united us as a province.

This year, rather than cheering on our Winnipeg Jets right now, we are cheering on our highly skilled and dedicated team of Health Care Providers, Essential Service workers and all those who are on the frontlines of doing everything they can to flatten the curve and save lives. We are all part of this team! Go Manitoba!

There are many ways we can show our love and support for the Frontliners, but we are starting a socially distant MANITOBA WHITE-OUT PARTY! No, we won’t be gathering together, but we invite everyone to find some white paper and start cutting out hearts and place them in your windows and doors so everyone can see them.

Add some words of encouragement if you wish, or maybe names of the front liners you are personally supporting. Tie white ribbons around your trees, or white bows on your light fixtures. Be creative, put out as much white on your front yard, windows, doors, or balcony as you can. Let’s get the attention of the media around the world and show them how Manitobans come together in celebration and in challenge.

Post pictures of your homes with you in them to show your love and support on social media. Use #whiteoutMB.

Love is contagious! Let’s spread it around generously.
